THE MUSIC AND OLIVES ROOM
The charm of centuries
As its name suggests, this room was once used for processing grapes. It was one of the Convent’s first buildings, like the Olive room and it dates back almost a thousand years. It has exposed, stone walls surmounted by a ceiling of wattle and daub and juniper beams.
Here the charm of past centuries is even more evident: a crystal slab on the floor reveals an excavated room, where agricultural products were probably kept in the cool, underground.
As with all our rooms it is equipped with sound and voice broadcasting systems.
A thousand years of history
This is one of the oldest parts of the Convent: along with the Music room it was built nearly a thousand years ago, in about 1100. The walls are built with unsquared stones and mortar, with a technique dating back to Roman times, which has been used in Sardinia for centuries.
This room can be used together with adjacent rooms to create one large festive area.
As with all our rooms it is equipped with sound and voice broadcasting systems.
